Diagnosis

Mile High Climbers provides consultations and multidisciplinary team evaluations for children with suspected autism spectrum disorders, as well as other developmental issues. Our team includes a licensed psychologist, speech language pathologist, and occupational therapist. Separate formal testing in speech and language and cognition can also be provided.

Mile High Climbers uses the gold standard of autism spectrum assessment, the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS), and the Autism Diagnostic Interview – Revised (ADI-R) which gathers information about social interaction, communication and behaviors from the parents’ perspective. We use these tools as our primary diagnostic instruments for evaluation of suspected autism spectrum disorders, but also use other assessments when indicated.

In addition, we request and review complete background information and previous testing, if available, as well as use informal assessment and observation. A detailed report with testing results, diagnostic impressions, treatment recommendations and home resources will be provided. We also meet with each family to extensively review, discuss, support and plan for your child’s needs, regardless of diagnosis. We want your family to feel supported and empowered in taking the next steps to help your child!

Please call Crystal Joy or Amanda Reed at 303.872.9033 or emailautism [at] milehighclimbers [dot] com if you are interested in a consultation or evaluation for autism spectrum disorders.
